Roger Binninghof: "Over My Head"

Well, here I was, thinking about shutting down this blog. Just when I was sure that I wanted to call it quits, I went and found a record that I just had to get up here.

This is the kind of record that It's Great Shakes was made for, terrific song and almost no presence at all on the net. I only found mention of "Over My Head" on a couple Minaret discography listings and, even there, they misspelled the artist's name.

I posted this song on Facebook and Jeff Lemlich commented to tell me that Mr. Binninghof was a student at Vanderbilt University, who had a hand in several Minaret releases. Thank you to Jeff for that info.

Anyway, "Over My Head" is a garagey winner and another reminder of just how many great records are out there waiting to be discovered.

Todd,

As co-author of this blog, I agree with Westex and the other person who posted that this blog should stay around, if only to be able to check on the action of the other blogs we're connected to. If, however, you're totally burned out, hand it over to me and I'll continue it. I don't have sound capacity yet, but I can still do it. Otherwise I'll start my own music blog. Whatever the case, this blog still needs to keep going, at least in my opinion. Happy Thanksgiving and hope to hear from you soon.

That was great fun - I love the surface noise as well. It would have fit right into Nuggets. "Whoah!" Sadly his vocal performance just isn't mean and snotty enough, although I can see what he was aiming at.

Are you a Vinyl lover? Then isellvinyl.com is the right place for you!
In recent years vinyl records may have lost the popularity factor, but its production never stopped. Sure they don't press as many as they used to, MP3's are to blame, actually technology and effeciency are the real suspects here. In recent years, vinyl records are gaining back its’ popularity. In my opinion, vinyl records will never die. There will always be someone that is looking for a rare record and someone that has it and is willing to sell it. And these people over at iSellVinyl.com just might have what you are looking for or something you have forgotten about.
Isellvinyl.com stands out from other online record stores because of their passion of music. I agree, Todd - don't go! But why do you let these sneaky, spammer bastards leave comments about their fake driving schools, etc. on your blog? Spoils the ambience!

Pretty infectious tune.I never heard it or Roger before. With a bit more attitude on his part, that would have been a real winner. Still very cool to hear it.Thanks. And I hope you keep blogging too.

Your blog is a favorite of mine. And Minaret and Nashville area labels like SoundStage7, Excello, Nashboro, Abet and others favorites of mine. I live around 200 miles away from Eastern Tennessee. Keep the blog coming. I enjoy reading it. We own some of the same records and love similar ones. Come and visit me at www.theczarsof45.blogspot.com and read my take on 45 RPM things.

Those experienced players in Path of Exile know where to buy POE Currency before the start of each league. Just like the Path of Exile: Scourge league available now, many players with foresight have already purchased a lot of POE 3.16 Currency items on POECurrency.com before entering the game. The shop is familiar in the community.
