Jimmy Carroll: "Big Green Car"

Look what a quarter will still get you. That's what I paid for this 1958 winner at a recent record show. Surprising too, since it'd sat for nearly half the day before I found it. I didn't know the tune but it sure looked interesting enough to risk two bits.

This thing has it all, from a revving engine to some great, wild guitar. Just click below to step on the gas.

Amazing record! I'm amazed at how you found this for a quarter. Makes me hopeful with my own record hunting. KILLER 45!

Fantastic record! I was only familiar The Polecats version. It appears on their stunning 1981 LP "Polecats Are Go! It's hard to believe you found Jimmy Carroll's original... and for only a quarter! Congratulations!!!

Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this article to him. Fairly certain he will have a good read. Many thanks for sharing!

Jimmy Carroll is my father. I do not even have an original record of his. Would love to buy it. Jimmy Carroll now lives in Rutherford, TN. Thanks so much
