Indy Show Finds -November Edition

Hello again and welcome to another edition of Indy Show Finds. Last Sunday, we had one of our bi-monthly record shows put on by Gerald of Alpha Records. While our shows are not as lard as some of the others I've been to, there's still plenty of gems to be had. My list is not as large as Todd's St. Louis extraviganza, but I still found quite a few goodies. I now list them for your approval.

King Curtis and the Kingpins: Changes Parts 1 and 2 (Atco)
Koko Taylor: Don't Mess with the Messer (Checker)
The Soul Toronadoes: Hot Pants Break Down (Magic City)
Big Bopper: Little Red Riding Hood (Mercury)
The Last Poets: Black Thighs (Douglas)
Ground Hog: Bumpin' Parts 1 and 2 (Gemigo)
Robert Parker: You Shakin' Things Up (Silver Fox)
Robert Parker: The Scratch (Nola)
Charlie Earland: Sing A Simple Song (Prestige)
John Lee Hooker: Grinder Man (Stax)
Gil Scott-Heron: The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (Flying Dutchman)
Lee Dorsey: Get Out of My Life Woman (Amy)
The Fendermen: Heartbreakin' Special (Soma)
The Sultans: You Got Me Goin (Tilt)
The Peanut Butter Conspiracy: Back In L.A. (Challenge) (This one's a stinker, though.)
Junior Parker: Sweet Home Chicago (Duke)
Vince Edwards: Squeelin' Parrot (Twist) (Russ-Fi)
Henrietta and the Hairdooz: Slow Motion (Liberty)
Magic Sam: Good Humor Man (Amy)
Love 'n' Stuff: Right On, Brothers, Right On (Pride)
Ruth Brown: Here He Comes (Atlantic)
Ernie K. Doe: Get Out Of My House (Minit)
The Piltdown Men: Brontosaurus Stomp (Capitol)
Big Brother and the Holding Company: Nu Boogaloo Jam (Columbia)
Frankie Lymon: Mama Don't Allow It (Roulette)
The Capitols: Cool Jerk (Karen)
Ace Cannon: 38 Special (Santo)

Don Reno and Red Smiley: Get Behind Me Satan (King)

And that was that. Next show January 6. We'll see what happens in the meantime.
